Area Parks

Amelia Island State Park
Is located on the south end of Amelia Island. It features a mile long fishing bridge with a boat ramp on the far side. This park is a favorite spot for viewing many shore birds and also for fishermen. Finally, located on the Amelia Island side of the bridge is a horseback riding stable for touring the beautiful beaches.

Fort George Island State Park
This beautiful historic island is a real gem. It features self guided tours and the newly opened Ribault Club. Walk, bike or drive through historic plantation structures, nature trails, sprawling oaks, and lush vegetation. Also located on the Island is the historic Kingsley Plantation.

Fort Clinch State Park
Built in 1874, it is located on the northern end of Amelia Island. It was occupied by Confederate troops when the Civil War began but was taken by Federal troops when a withdrawal was ordered by General Robert E. Lee. The fort includes a beach, campgrounds, nature and hiking trails, and historic re-enactments.

Big Talbot Island State Park
Features miles of hiking trails, shell covered beaches, and a 40 site campground. Catch a rare glimpse back in time by experiencing nature on one of the last remaining sea Islands along the Atlantic coast.

Little Talbot Island State Park
The park has more than five miles of beautiful, white sandy beaches, undisturbed salt marshes, and vegetated dunes. Maritime forests, desert-like dunes, and the salt marshes on the western side of the island allow endless hours of nature study and relaxation.

Atlantic Recreation Center
Is located on Atlantic Avenue close to the ocean and the entrance to Fort Clinch State Park. Includes an auditorium, swimming pool, and baseball park. Central Park and Egan's Creek Park
Central Park Is located just east of downtown on Atlantic Avenue. It features basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball courts, picnic areas, and playgrounds for kids. Egan's Creek park is located about 1/2 mile from the ocean and has a baseball field, playgrounds for kids, and picnic area overlooking the scenic Egan's Creek marshlands.
