Offshore - One of the main fishing attractions in the area for a variety of fish.
Among the most popular are king mackerel, tarpon, dolphin, barracuda,
cobia, grouper, red snapper, black sea bass and many others.
Backwater Fishing
in the Nassau, Amelia rivers, and St. Mary's Inlet as well as the many
tidal marshes and estuaries can be very exciting and produce reds,
speckled trout, flounder, blue fish, sheepshead, black drum, whiting,
and others.
Surf Salt
water fishing from the shore can produce whiting, redfish (reds or red
bass), speckled trout, flounder, drum, blue fish, pompano, and many
other varieties.
Fresh and
Brackish Lofton, Mills, Plumbers, Thomas, and Boggy
Creeks as well as the St. Marys and Nassau rivers offer superb large
mouth bass, striped bass, catfish, and bream fishing.
